I had no lesson today, I went cycling with my girlfriend - Siew Li at East Coast Park, as i promised to go cycling with her because it had been quite a long time since the last time she went for cycling. We rent 2 bicycles from 1 of the shop which Siew Li rented her bicycle at last time.
We cycled all the way from East Coast park McDonald to near Pasir Ris and back.
On our way back, we stopped at the Bedok Jetty and took a few photos before we head back to return our bicycles.

Today is a public holiday, Deevapali. I had no lesson, so I went to fetch her from work.
Her work ends at 3pm everyday, we took Bus 858 from Changi Airport.
On the bus she fell asleep very quickly as she was tired after work, I felt sweet feeling in my heart when I was looking at her when she is asleep.
Before i notice, we had reached at Yishun. I wished that moment would last longer.
We went to have a walk at the North Point shopping center as we had sometime to spare. We went to the arcade and had some fun.
We went to the food court to have something before I sent her to the bus stop. Today was a nice day!

Today is 1 of the most memorable day out of my 24 years life, because today is the day I finally get my 1st girlfriend, Siew Li, a girl who I knew during my NS. We went to Cineleisure Orchard and watched the movie the Child's Eyes. After the movie, we took a walk and we sat down at a bench to take a break.
While we were taking a break, I took my courage to ask Siew Li whether she can be my girlfriend. I asked very softly at first, but Siew Li acted as if she didn't hear it clear and asked me to say it loud.
And her answer was......
YES!
I was very HAPPY when she accepted me and willing to be my girlfriend, and I just couldn't remove the smile on my face.

Today Temasek Design School (TDS) had became a business school because you would see a lot of "businessman & women" around once you stepped into design school. This was not because all the students from business school came over to the TDS. It was because a number of the students were having a module,"Professional Communication of Design (PComD)" and preparing for their job interview simulation.
My group was having our interview simulation at 2pm, some of the members were very nervous about this interview because they had no working experiences or not been attend to any job interview before. Overall, I think my group had performed not too bad.. And Congrats to Rahman who had "gotten" the job!!

Today was an important day that I have long waited, because today was the Result Announcement Day of the Student Election 2010. All the 17 of Us gathered at the Student Lounge at 5pm although the result would only announce around 5.30pm.
Finally, the announcement of result had begun after a 45 minutes of waiting.

Today was the weekends after Block 1 ended and before Block 2 start. This is the election period for all the study clubs from different schools and the Student Union to get their main committees to voted.
For Design Study Club (DSC), there are 15 slots. I had tried this last year, I was the 16th person... Unfortunately, I wasn't famous enough, so I didn't get enough votes to beat the others.
But for this year, I have gotten myself more prepare.. I designed 2 posters for myself, 1 of them was from my classmate, Zac, who had watched the recent movie, Ip Man 2. He photoshoped me face on the original poster. And I think this is quite a good idea, so i modified the poster more. The 2nd one was an idea from my schoolmate, Kite, who is also running for the election. I photoshoped my face onto Bruce Lee's body.

Today was the 1st day of school, which means I've started my 2nd year in poly. 1 week ago, it was the Design Orientation Camp (DOC) while I was chosen to be 1 of the main comms, Assistant Logistic Head. Fortunately, the camp had went through smoothly although there were some situations happened, but overall... I'll conclude that it was a successful camp. We, Temasek Design School has won the Best Spirited School for this year also, even through we didn't manage to be the champion.
I think we had done our best, and we should give another impactful one next year!!

Today is the last day of the 6-days FOW/FOC 2010, it was really 1 of the unforgettable memories and experiences of my life.
All these started 5-6 months ago during the Orientation Training Camp (OTC), the other GLs & FAs came together and formed ZADAZ.
And we went through 3 Refreshes which bonded us ever more...
Finally, Freshmen Orientation (FO) had reached. It was time for us to pass our passion and love to the freshies for both FOW & FOC.
I'm really glad that we gotten good freshies and good GLs. Without good freshies... We wouldn't able achieve our 3 goals - Win FO, Happy Freshies & 1 Big Family, with just the GLs.

Today was the 5th day of my Semester Break, I had started my part time job at the law firm, which used to work in last year end.

Few days back from the 19th till 21st Sept, I had went for my cell group retreat to Malaysia - Tioman. We had a lot FUNs and enjoyed ourselves!!

Today I bought my 1st DSLR in my life, Canon EOS 450D.

It is come with a package, Camera body + Kit lens & accessories like extra batteries, battery grip... etc.

The DSLR is still under warranty till Jan 2010. The full set worth around $2K but I got it with $1.2K only, as the owner lost his interest in photography so he sold all his stuffs cheaper than usual.

I think this was a really good deal...

August was fruitful month to me, I had my modules, Apply Graphic Design by Simon & Fundamental of Digital Photographying by Mathias. And also attended SYOG countdown and Mathias' Photo Exhibition. Mathias, who is my lecturer and also a journalist, he had went Iraq during the time it was having war between USA. He had been just a few steps away from Death, as he was caught in the middle of fire fight.... etc. And his photos really tell a lot....
And he always says,

"Everyone can take photos, BUT not everyone can get GOOD photos! And you will know it by yourself when it is a GOOD photo."

And I found this is really true... I am interested in photographying since the start, but I gained deeper interests in Photography during his module. I'm planning to get a DSLR for myself, and Mathias told me that his friend is selling a good condition Canon EOS 350D with the kit lens and stuffs at $600. I was planned to get it... but my family objected about the idea, as they thought it was too expensive.

Btw, the SYOG countdown was really FUN. I went there with my fellow DSC subcomm friends, Aaron, Cassie, Joelene, Joy, Kite... etc. We had a lot of FUN!!

Today was the 1st day of the Annual COSFEST, and it was held at Downtown East from 11th -12th July.
It was my 1st time of attending a cosplay event, they were really a lot of people (more than my expectation). There were people cosplay in a group and individual. 1 of my poly classmate, Roy, was also paticipated in the COSFEST (the one in white at the right of the photo).
I found that cosplay is interesting (maybe I may try it in the future...=P).

Today I had met Shane and Pei Ying (1 of my secondary school classmates who went to Sydney to study her Uni about Music) for lunch at the Sake Sushi (Parkway Parade outlet) at 3.30pm. We had decided to go for the puffet, which started from 3pm till 6pm. We ate quite a number of stuffs like Suishi, Sashimi etc...
We had done with the puffet arount 5.15pm, and we decided to play pool before head back home.

In the evening, I was invited to Santa Fe, which is a restaurant on the Stewords Riverboat, it is a family business of my friend, Daryl. There are having their 10th Anniversary celebration from 1st-10th July. (For more details, please check http://santafe-10.blogspot.com/ )
I had made some new friends who like Magic too...

Today was the last day of the PC Show at Suntec City, which was started since 11th June till today. I went there with 1 of my friend, Pei Yu, who wanted to buy a digital camera while I wanted to get a drawing tablet. At the 6th floor, I looked at 2 booths which sell drawing tablets but all the tablets were out of my limit. I walked around and hoping that I could find a booth which sell cheaper. LUCKY, I really manage to find a writing tablets booth which sell a 2-in-1 Drawing + Writing tablet, TOOYA PRO, which was just suited to what I want to get. Because I wanted to get a Chinese writing tablet since the start. So it saved my time and money to get a writing tablet because TOOYA PRO is 2-in-1.
After getting my tablet, I accompany Pei Yu to the 4th floor to look for the camera she want to get. We visited a few camera booths like Canon, Casio, Sony and etc... After seeing all the booths, Pei Yu decided to get the Canon IXUS 95 IS, with 2x 8GB SD cards, card reader, camera case and digital kit bag as the free gifts. After purchased the camera at the 4th floor, we needed to go to the 1st floor to collect her free gifts. When we were collecting the free gifts, Pei Yu decided to purchase the extended warranty for her camera. And she got 2 extra 2GB SD cards from it. She gave 1 of them to me after she heard that I lost my thumb drive. I really feel Thank You and appreciate for her kindness! =]

Today is last day of the 2nd block of my poly, I had not been sleeping for few days already. I had 2 modules, Drawing Essential(DrawEss) and Ideation(Idea) and the lecturers of both modules were really nice people. The photos beside are some of the drawings I drew for the module - Drawing Essential. We drew mostly Still-Life drawings. For Ideation, it was to keep our brain thinking creatively and also taught us to look and appreciate designs in a different view. 1 of the assignment was to create our monster/character.

For the 1st block, I had the modules - 3D Art Funtamental(3DArFUN) and Communicate Design Idea(ComDI). The 3DArFun was fun but the ComDI was a killer to me, because it require a lot of writing. We were tasked to write for at least 5 passages. For 3DArFUN, We did a lot of stuffs. We made sculptures with clay & wires, Frank Stella style drawing, perspective drawings and etc.... And at the end of the module, we needed to make a 1m by 1m by 1m 3D sculpture.
Overall, I had a very fulfill school life for the 1st 2 month of my poly.

Today was the last day of my Design Orientation Camp(DOC), it was a 4 days 2 nights camp. I needed to report in the Auditorium 1 of Temasek Polytechnic(TP) by 8am on the 14th April, 2009. 1st Day was just registration and introduction of the stuffs and areas of the Design school. We returned home to prepare for the following 3days 2nights camp.
2nd Day to 4th Day were the main camp, and the theme of the camp was "Camp X". The camp was really FUN and EXCITED!! I made a lot of new friends during the camp...

Today morning, Xiang Long, Ah Bao, Stephanie and me were invited to attend Shane's graduating recital at his school. I met Xiang Long and Stephanie at the Bedok Interchange 1st, and we met Ah Bao at Shane's school.
After we reached the school, we couldn't find the place where Shane's graduating recital should be hold at.... After calling Shane, he met us and brought us to the place...
Shane's band performed a few songs and they were good!! But Sane still think that it was not good enough..

Today was the last day of the Freshmen Orientation Workshop(FOW) organised by TPSU(Temasek Polytechnic Student Union), it was a 3 days workshop for all the TP students who are interested to sign up. I was planned to be in the empire, HOLQA.
During these 3 days, I made a lot new friends and know the places in TP more. I met Yu Ling, Brenda, Adeline, Nichaoles, Zen, Yi Hsiang, Marcus and Wan..... etc. We had a really good time and built bondings between us(both the freshies & GLs)
And We, HOLQA, had won 1st out of the 5 empires1!!! Ho Ah!! =]

Today, I was having my 6th Real Fighting Ba Gua (八卦掌) lesson at SP. During the sparing session, I was accidentally hit by my sparing partner's punch on my left eye. My spectacles flew very far and out of shape. It was lucky that my lens are made of plastic, so they would not crack into pieces. I had made a new spectacles.
And getting hits meant that I need more trainings!!

Today morning, I joined a cycling session,"Cycling around the East", which was organized by Darwin together with Cheryl, Jun Kai and Pei Yu. And I brought my bicycle along for it. We met in front of the Burger King(BK) at East Coast Park(ECP), Area C, as it was our starting and ending points.
We rented some bicycles from a bicycles rental shop for the timing of 11.30am - 4.30pm. We followed the Park Connector(PCN) from ECP to Changi Village(CV), and we had our lunch there. On our way to CV, there was a dead snake lied in the middle of the road.
After eating our lunch, We headed back our way back to East Coast. But we cycled slightly faster, because Pei Yu needed to rush off early.
In the evening, I returned to church for my cell group after the cycling. We had a sharing session on what do we want our cell group to be in the future and we also decided the name of our cell group as Bethlehem.

Today I returned to PYSS to help out with my juniors' training, before I met Xiang Long, Ah Bao and Stephanie to sing Karaoke at a Party World outlet in Liang Court.
In order to save the traveling time, Ah Bao fetched me with his motorbike. This was the 1st time to ride a motorbike, it was awesome!!
Before we went for the karaoke at Party World, we bought some burgers at the MacDonald.We sang a lot of songs, but most of them I had never heard abouy them before...
It was really FUN and we had enjoyed ourselves!!

Today I was invited by 1 of my secondary school mates, Johnathan, to his 21st Birthday party, which was held in his grandma's terrace house at Simei. We had not meeting each other for quite sometime already. He grew a lot, he was bigger size than when I last met him, which was around 1 year ago.
His whole family & relatives were busy preparing for his 21st Birthday party. Johnathan invited a lot of his friends, some were his poly friends and some were childhood friends. My brother and I were his secondary school friends.
I met the girlfriend of Min Kiat(1 of my NS friends), Winnie and I didn't expect it at all... I only saw her photo on Min kiat's MSN display photo, but not the real person.
The food were delicious, and Johnathan was busy chatting with his friends. Overall, the party was a success!! =]

Today, I woke up early in the morning around 5.30am because I was going to take my annual IPPT(Individual Personal Physical Test). Every NSmen would need to take their IPPT annually to make sure that they were always in good physical condition. Min Kiat, who was my NS friend, took IPPT together with me. It was not easy for us as we had ORD from our 2 years full-time NS for around 1 year already. There were total 5 stations: Sit Up, SBJ(Standing Board Jump), Chin Up, Shuttle Run and 2.4km Run. Luckily, I still managed to pass my IPPT.
My senior of my secondary school CCA - Lion Dance, Fu Tian drove me to PYSS. We returned PYSS to help up with the training.
In the afternoon around 12.45pm, I went to IBC(International Baptist Church) at Farrer Road for the rehearsal of Baptist Choral Fest 2009. We left IBC to ACS Baker by 3pm and had our final rehearsal, before the actual start at 7.30pm in the night.
We sang 6 songs - "荣耀归主", "God of Grace", "主!我要遇见祢", Hem of Your Robe", Nobody Fills My Heart Like Jesus" and "Our God Is God". These songs were very nice songs. This was a very memorable experience!!

Today I had cycled to Bedok Swimming Complex for swimming together with Ming Sheng & Ming Hao(2 of them are siblings) in the morning. We swam a few laps and it was really tiring. There was a woman who had very GOOD stamina, she swam non-stop for more than 10 laps of the swimming pool.
After swimming, I accompanied both Ming Sheng & Ming Hao to submit their enrollment documents to Temasek Polytechnic(TP) and it didn't take as much time as we thought.
They brought me a bicycle shop at Bedok South to repair my bike after we left TP, because some of the parts of my bike were spoiled. I replaced the rubber of the front break of my bike and the left gear changer, and I also bought a seat wrap for the seat of my bike.

Today, I woke up early in the morning around 6am because there would be a song presentation of the song “离了你，我不能作什么” by SingVOICES. And we(all the SingVOICES members) needed to be in church by 8am for rehearsal.

In the afternoon, I rushed off to Hong Leng Shopping Center after my Sunday school for a Magic performance for a open house from 1pm - 2.30pm. The kids were very lively and energetic, they ran around the place but not feeling tired.
After the magic performance, I went straight to Habourfront MRT station because I was joining a surprise Birthday celebration for Zhi Yang(1 of my church mates who sings very well) and I was going to help out with the decoration of the place. After the decoration, Zhi Yang's friends had started to reach one after another. I met 4 Choir friends and other friends of Zhi Yang. But we were like 2 gang of people and in the function room. So in order to break the Ice in between us, I used my "看家本领" (it means the thing that I'm best in) - Magic. I performed a few tricks to some of the Zhi Yang's friends and the other Zhi Yang's friends croweded near me, and they were amazed. From there I started the conversations between me and Zhi Yang's friends.
Around 7pm, Zhi Yang had finally reached. And all of us hid inside thr function room, without making any noise. When Zgi Yang opened the door, all of us wished ZhiYang Happy Birthday!" Zhi Yang was totally in shock and stunned that for 2-3minutes without speaking any words. Uncle Wei Ming had wrote special Birthday song(Cantones) for Zhi Yang and the lyrics is below:

欢欣添上一岁"
After singing the birthday song and cutting the cake, we had our dinner and some games. This was really fun and unforgettable!!

Today, the Young Adult Zone had a combine event, New Friends BBQ, together... Our BBQ was the DIY style type. I returned church early to help out with the preparation and setup of the BBQ. the BBQ started at 6pm but it ended late because our we had some special quests came at the unique timing.
The special guests were Darwin, Cheryl and Jun Kai. They told me that they would be coming soon since 7pm, but they only appeared at 8.30pm. Most of food were eaten up by others but it was Lucky that I had left some food for them. And we had some good chats between them and my cell group people.

Today I left home early around 6.30am with my father to help him out for his work. Around 11am, we went to church to collect the church's old drum set and to ask the Baptist Theological Seminary(BTS) for the details on applying courses for my father. I bought the church's old drum set in order to replace my own drum set at home. The "new" drum set was from the quite a well known brand, Pearl, while my drum set was a China unknown brand, Boston.
In the late afternoon around 3pm, I returned PYSS to help out with the training because the competition was near and it would be in April and I could practice my 八卦掌 (A very powerful martial art) at the same time. Another reason of returning was because I heard that there are some problems were happening in between the teacher, the coach and the juniors.
In the middle of the training, suddenly I felt that my mobile phone, which was in my pocket truned very hot. I took my phone out from my pocket... There was a very strong burning smell and my sim card was burnt untill out of shape. It's lucky that both my sim card & memory card was not spoil.
It was very dangerous, so I sent my phone for service...

Today was the day of Yeah Show 2009 "唔生唔死" 布道会 and the Impresario 2009 Final. I returned to church for the rehearsal of the Yeah Show 2009 in the morning around 10am because I was the Magician of the day, and my job was to pose a question to the audience. I had my final rehearsal at 1.30pm before the actual event start, the actual event started from 2.30pm till 4.30pm.
But the rehearsal was not up to my own standard, I knew I could done better. I did better on my actually performance.

The speaker, Rev. Lim, had a sense of humor, who was from Hong Kong and his message was really enjoyable and meaningful.
In the evening, I attended the Grand Final of Impresario 2009, which was organized by NTU together with Ah Bao, Xiang Long ans Stephanie. Shane's group, Violet Melody was 1 of the finalists. The other competitors were good too, it was not an easy battle. In the end, although Violet Melody and "WIN" had missed each other, I still think that they had done their best and they are good!!

Today was the last day of Cheryl's relax Chalet, it was a 3 days 3 nights chalet started on 24th till today. There were a total of 4 of us stayed through the whole chalet, Cheryl(the girl with spectacle who was frying some prawns below) , Darwin(the one in black below), Jun Kai(the one in the 1st & 2nd photos below) and me. The chalet was held at 48 Pasir Ris Avenue, a 2-stories bungalow which had 3 bed rooms(1 master & 2 guest), 1 activity room, 1 living room, 3 toilets, 1 kitchen, 1 BBQ corner and a very garden. It was really out of our expectation, we didn't expect it to be so big. And it was just $75 from Monday to Friday!!!
We had BBQ for dinner on the 1st and 3nd night, we cooked our own breakfasts, lunches every day and dinner on the 2nd day. On the 2nd night, we went for a overnight cycling from Pasir Ris Park to Changi Village. We cycled around 28km followed the Park Connector. On our we met our special "tour guide" of that night, Joshua, a 17 years old teenager. He is a very good roller skater, he accompanied us all the way both go and return.
We managed to complete a 500 pieces Jigsaw Puzzle out of the period of our chalet.
Overall, it was a really Enjoyable and Fun chalet!!! =]

Today was the 21st Birthday of 1 of my best NS buddies, Edison, who was the CSM(Company Sergent Major) Runner/Lineman. He booked a terrace at Aloha Loryang, the terrace was really BIG.. 4 bedrooms, 1 living room, 1 kitchen, BBQ area etc... I became the "bao-ka-liao" of the Birthday BBQ, I helped to decorate the terrace, BBQ the foods, perform Magic to entertain Edison's family & friends and helped him to clear-up the area after all his friends left.... Although it was tiring, it worthy to do so, because it was doing for my BEST buddy!! hahaha... =]

Today was the day Pei Ying, my secondary school classmate who had been same class with me for sec 1, 3 & 4, flew off to Australia for her University. She is very PRO, she had completed her Grade 1-8 and Diploma of piano. And she was going for her degree on Music.
Her flight was SQ221 at Changi Airport Terminal 3 and would take off by 8.40pm. But she would need to be there early to check in hers and her parents' luggage, who were accompanying her to Australia.
Shane and me were going to sent her off. I reached T3 early around 6pm and Shane was rushing his way down from Clementi... I waited at the Row no. 3 where supposed to check-in her luggage at, and I sent her an sms informing her the row no. Less than 10sec I received her call and she had just reached row no.3 too. She was alone looking after the luggage because her parents were away to something to eat.
We chatted a while and her relatives and friends had started to reach one after another. Pei Ying introduced her friends for me. And there was a girl, 1 of Pei Ying's schoolmates and her best friend, named Yan Siew (The one wearing yellow, long hair... Standing beside Pei Ying, at the left of the photo) who was actually my primary school schoolmate. I didn't expect that and I totally could not recognize her.
Shane had finally made it just 15 minutes before Pei Ying and her parents going in for the plane.

Today I had finally received my Gospel Magic set after a very long wait. I had ordered this Gospel Magic set from a HK Gospel Magician, Rev. Yeung. I knew about him from a website, www.gospelmagic.hk.

Today I went straight to Bishan Junction 8 after my church, because Shane's group, Violet Melody (He and his partner, Clara) was having its Semi-Final of Impresario 2009 organized by NTU(Nanyang Technology University). There were a few different categories, Single Vocal, Group Vocal, Song Compose and Street Dance for the competition.

Violet Melody were under the Group Vocal category. They performed the song "Wei Ni Er Huo" by Shen Mu Yu Tong. Violet Melody's performance was 1 of the better one out of all the 11 teams and the performance was good and outstanding compared to the other groups.

Today late morning, my brothers and I were invited to attend the PYSS Lion Dance Troupe's Annul Lo Hei(捞鱼生).
After the Lo Hei, we rushed to 1 of our friends' house... But I didn't stay long because I need to rush back church for the Farewell Glowing Fellowship.It was a special program prepared by the younger group of fellowship, Soar(展翅), in order to farewell my fellowship, Glowing(炽燃), from Youth Zone to Young Adult Zone.

In the night, I met Ah Bao, Lin Hui(Stephanie's friend), Stephanie, Wu Yu, Xiang Long & Yan Chi at Bugis for steamboat. We had a lot of Fun when steamboat!!

Today was the Raffles Institution(RI) CNY dinner, and I was invited by Auntie Han Ying(A church mate of mine who was the teacher of RI) to perform a Magic performance on the dinner. I asked Ming Tjong(A church mate of mine who play Magic too) to help out with the performance.

I planned the performance in a way that it is a remix of Stage & Street Magic, I was the Stage Magician while Ming Tjong was the Street Magician.
We reached RI around 3.30pm and had our rehearsal. Around 6pm, the dinner started and our performance was around 7.45pm. I was really disappointed with our performance, a lot situations and technical problems happened... Which cause the performance to go out of plan.
Although the audience seem to have enjoyed themselves, I still feel very disappointed with it...

Today morning, I went to PYSS to collect a lion head, which I borrowed from Ms Goh(my Sec Sch CCA teacher). And I also helped her to bring a wild cat, Xiao Hao, away from PYSS. It was because the Discipline Master of the school wanted to get rid of her... He called the SPCA to catch her.

In the evening, I had weekly Sing practice in church... we continued with the new song, "离了你，我不能作什么！", which we had learnt last week. It was really a nice song.

Today evening, I had finally met up with my OC, CPT John, who was my 1st year OC of my NS. I had tried to meet up with him a lot times, but it was either he could not make it of I could not make it. We met at the McDonald below Pricess Cinema and had our dinner that. I asked my OC for his advices on what course(either EEE or IMD) should I study and we discussed about it, because I was still considering. At the end of the gathering, my OC gave his GPS (which he had used it in the period of the past few years, so it was full of useful data) to me for free and it was costed around $250-$350 for 1 on the market.

Today was a wonderful day to me... Why? It was because I received an email that I was accepted into both Interactive Media Design(IMD) at Temasek Polytechnic and Electrical Electonic Engineering /Bioelectonics (EEE) at Singapore Polytechnic. This meant my hardship on spending whole night drawing for my portfolio was not wasted. I drew a few pictures, mostly are comic & manga characters and some characters which was created by me..(Starting from the left: A warrior created by me when I was in Secondary school; An Army boy modified from the character of the brand "Newbie"; A famous Japanese Manga character)
In the evening, I was invited by Sandy and Sindy to attend a Chinese New Year(CNY) gathering at her house. It was FUN!! I met friends of Sandy and Sindy and made some new friends, Darwin, Cheryl, Charmaine etc... After dinner, we had a game that I could harder understand how to play, but it was very fun while we were trying to learn how to play the game.

Today morning, I went to Min Kiat's house to Bai Nian and stayed till 12pm.
On my way home I went to the Computer servicing shop, at blk 202 and just beside Bedok Interchange, which also sell computer parts, US Army equipments and toys(guns, rifles, managa models... etc)I saw something very interesting, Night Vision Goggles (NVG) and Soundwaves Capture Gun (SCG).
Althought the NVG was just a toy, it still manage to see 50ft(15m) in total darkness. It was a product of Jakks Pracific.
The SCG was a device that able capture soundwaves 300ft away and there was a 8x build-in telescope with it.
I really like military equipments since young, so these 2 items really interest me... I decided to perchase them, the NVG costs $145 and the SCG costs $60. But I managed to get a $5 discount, so I bought it at the price of $200.

Today was the annul "Plug the Green" for Ping Yi Secondary School (PYSS, which was the secondary school I used to study in) Lion Dance Troupe . And I'm 1 of the members of the PYSS Lion Dance Troupe. I would reture to PYSS to help out almost every year, this year there were 13 clients asked to "plug the green" for them... This year, I took up the guiding job to guide the juniors on their Lion Dance skills with my experience, taugh them what to doand how to react according to different situations...

Today after checked out from Sing's retreat, I returned home and make a Chinese New Year snack called the peanut dumpling.
In the evening, Yan Lok(my younger brother) and Me asked Qin Jie(Yan Lok's god sister) for a gathering. We had our dinner at the Bedok Interchange Hawker Centre 1st.
We walked to 1 of blocks near to Qin Jie's block, we had some chats and played the poker card game, Big 2.

Today evening, I organized a gathering with Shane, Pei Ying and my brothers at the Mac below Bedok Princess Cinema, which is just beside Bedok Bus Interchange. We met at Mac by 7pm, I reached early around 6.30pm. I looked around and I didn't see neither my brothers, Shane nor Pei Ying, so I found a corner and sat down and waited. Around 6.55pm, Shane arrived. We played UNO while waiting for the others...
We waited till still 7.15pm and my brothers reached, but the most important person, Pei Ying, had not reached yet. The whole purpose of the gathering was to meet with Pei Ying before she fly to Australia for study her degree on Music.
We have our dinner 1st, then have a good time of chats.
After the gathering, I went to Coasta Sand Resort (Pasir Ris) for the SingVOICES's Retreat. We had a sharing on the Sing's future plan, SingDREAM.

Today is the last day of my work, I've actually started a part-time job since the mid of November, 2008. I had been working in a law firm which called J.S.Yeh & Co, which is in Chinatown Point, as an admin clerk. My job was to reminder clients to pay their unpaid bills by phone, letter and fax. I would need to take MRT to work everyday. I worn contact lens for the first few days of my work because my spectacles was spoiled in the morning of my 1st day of work.
After working for 1 month, I had finally got my 1st paid. I bought my first bass guitar at the Yamaha year-end promotion. It was a Yamaha Bass Guitar Set with free tuner, guitar bag, guitar picks, cable and bass amplifier for just $550, which was selling $708 as its original price. Hahaha... I am having electric guitar, bass guitar, keyboard & drumset now, which are the basic instruments used for a band...
I was supposed to go Thailand for my church mission trip from 26th Nov 2008 till 2nd Dec 2008. But the mission trip was postponed to 22nd - 26th Dec 2008, due to the conflict between the protesters and the Thailand government. The protesters occupied the Bangkok International Airport for 3 days, and it was just nicely 1 day before the date we were flying to Thailand, so we were not able to fly.... Due to the postpone of the mission trip, I was able to make it for the anniversary dinner of the law firm which I was worked in on the 28th Nov 2008...
Finally, We flew to Thailand on the 22nd Dec 2008. We needed to transit from International flight to Domestic flight at Bangkok, then flew to Chiang Rai. When we reached Chiang Rai Airport was around 9pm - 10pm in the night and Pastor Tao Rong was there and waiting for us already. Pastor Tao Rong prepared a small truck to fetch us to the Hui Ju Christ Church, which was at the waist of a mountain. After we reached the church, We slept straight away after unpacked our stuffs.
On the 23 morning, we had our 1st quiet time together with Pastor Tao Rong and Xue'er, Who had flew to Thailand before us. And we helped them to decorate the church in the afternoon after we went out to buy some decorations for the Christmas. And we gave the shoes and shirts that we bought from Singapore to the children from Grace Home in the night.The following day, we were busy shopping. Buy present and gifts for children in Hui Ju Church and the Chinese School kids, and stuffs for games to be played on the Christmas. And we also gave out the Christmas gifts which we had prepared for the students of the Chinese school.
On the 25th Dec 2008(Christmas), the leader of the Hui Ju Church invited the leaders and people of the Hui Ju village and principles of the nearby Thai school to the church and had a celebration of Christmas. In the morning, we had a Christmas service. The children of the Grace Home presented a song.
After the service, lunch was prepared for us, leaders and people from the village. The Children from the Grace Home were tasked to serve us and the guests for our lunch. Zhang Qi and Zhen Ping were interested and excited with the things in Thailand. They helped the children to serve the guests.
After the lunch, there were a gifts exchange session which all the people must bought a gift costed at least more than T$20 for exchange. Follow by the Game Time, we have setted up 5 games and it was FUN and excited! The children were really into the games, they won't scare of dirts or anythings, just in order to WIN!! In order to let the game masters to calculate the scores of the different groups, I was asked to give a Magic preformance. Both the adults and children were amazed by the Magic and all the children crowded around me when even I go after watching my performance.
The most excited moment of the day was the Bamboo Climbing Competition. They were asked to form team in 6 to challenge the Bamboo Climbling.
In the night, there were people from other villages ride motors to the church because they heard that there were Magic performance. After our dinner, we had a song learning session and we prepared Some Christmas gifts for all the children from the Grace Home. Every member of the mission team were in charge of prepare Christmas gifts for 4 children out of all the children in Grace Home.
It was really a Meaningful, Interesting and Wondering trip!!!=]

Sorry to keep everyone to wait for so long, I'm BACK!!! From 13th Oct( till today, I was busy preparing for my 'O' level retake exams. And........

Finally, my 'O' level retake exams had ended!=> Today is the last day of it... I took the last paper, E Math paper 2, today morning from 8.ooam -10.30am. Math paper 1 on 21th Oct, Eng paper 1& 2 on the 21st Oct... This was a LONG battle.

These 'O' level retake exams were important to me, BUT...... I will not forget my friends!
On the 15th Oct, I was invited to attend Shane's piano presentation at his school, Lasalle - SIA Collage of the Arts, which was built at Bugis area. By right, he should be performing at the basement theater of his school, where the sound system was very good. But don't know what happened, the performance had changed to a classroom last minute and the sound system was not good enough. Before the performance start , Shane brought me to a practice room where the students could have their practice because it was stil for the performance...There were a few people jamming inside the room already when we entered the room. The one wearing black with a hat in the photo was the box drumer of Shane's performance. I believe that most of the people will feel strange when they hear "box drumer", as everyone know what is drumer but sheldom or may never hear "box drumer". Why I called "him box drumer" and not just "drumer" because the instrument which he would play in the performance was not a drum set but a box drum... What is "Box Drum"? Box Drum is a customade hollow wooden box with a hole at its back that can produce the sound of Snare and Bass drums! Hahaha.... Amazing, right?
After 20minutes later of waiting, the performance had strated finally and it was fantastic and successful performance.
After the performance ended, we met Share's girfriend for dinner before returning home. We went to the "Long John Silver" fast food restaurant opposite Bugis Junction shopping center, just beside Bugis Street. We ordered the Hari Raya special meal, there were fish, chicken, prawns, french fires, cheese source, a bottle of F&N cherry etc.... it was delicious. We returned home after the dinner.

I didn't forget the health of my body, I still had a morning run with Chee Han on the 16th Oct (Thu) morning... I saw a few very Cute kittens on my way to East Coast Park. But I didn't see the mother cat, and I had a good run with Chee Han after that...

I would return home straight after the run normally, but I suddenly had a feeling of going to the second-hand shop,Cash Converter, for a walk. When I reached outside the shop, I saw something that made me feel that it was really my lucky day that day. I was a set of drumset cymbals(Hi-hat, Crash & Ride) from the window of the shop, and it was selling for $60 only!! I had been looking for 2nd-hand drumsets cymbals that were cheap with not bad quality, because new cymbals were very expensive. Unfortunately, it was not a easy task, because it was rare that people sold just their cymbals only. My drumset was made in China, and the drums were still alright but the cymbals were really lousy... So I walked to the counter and bought them home.
In the evening, I had SingVOICES practice as usual. I picked up a wallet after the practice when I was on my way home. There were a few membership cards of some shops, a Ez-link card , name cards... etc in the wallet, there wasn't any money left inside it. I decided to send it to the nearest police post, which was the Bedok South Neighbourhood Police Station, to make a police report.

On the 25th Oct, I was invited to Andy & Xuelin's wedding dinner. It was held at Novotel Clarke Quay Singapore (Formerly known as Hotel New Otani), the dinner was served at 7.30pm. It was really a joyful day for this couple.

Today, I went back home straight after church, it was to get reay for where I would be having in the night. I was invited my Best friend, Shane(we are as close as brothers), to watch his band, INKband, performance at DRAGONFLY in St. James Powerstation (St. James Powerstation is just beside Vivo City). His band performance was from 2030-2130.
The performance of Shane's Band was good...
I was planned to leave after his band performed, but Shane requested me to watch the following singers.. They are the full-time singers of DRAGONFLY, they were really good and experience. It was really an eye opener to me.

Today was a important day, which I had been waited for it to come... It was because the result of my BMT (Basic Music Theory) test would be out by today. This test was giving by Qiu Nan, who was the head of SingVOICES, in order to check whether we had remembered what we had learned from the BMT class.
We had organised a DIY BBQ in church (Just for the information, I'm a Christian and the church I used to go on Sunday is Queenstown Baptist Church.) and the result would be anounced at the end of the BBQ. Originally, we planned to had the DIY BBQ at the roof top garden of a multi-levels car park which was near to Qiu Nan's house. Unfortunately, the management didn't allow us to do so, because it was a fire hazard.

Vivian, Jason, Terry and me had went to the NTUC FairPrice in Tiong Bahru Plaza to buy the food and stuffs that would need for the BBQ in the afternoon.It was more Fun to have a DIY BBQ than a ordinary BBQ with a store-made BBQ pit!! (You need to build your own BBQ pit, set it up with what you have...=>)

After the BBQ, we need to put off the fire and cool the charcoal before we throw them into the trash bag... When we shifted the charcoal away from the tile below the aluminium container, which we used it as our DIY BBQ pit (we place a tile below the pit to prevent the floor from getting burned), cracked by itself due to the height temperture of the burning charcoal!? It cracked so NICELY that as if it was a piece of puzzle originally!!

By the way, I had passed my BMT test, I got 25/30marks!=>

I walked home from Kembangan MRT station, instead of alighting at Bedok MRT station and take bus home. On my way home, I saw a cat (The one I was holding in the photo above), it was different from normal cats. You would not notice what was the difference of it from normal cats if you looked at the right side of it, unless you looked it from its left side.

Its left eye was blind! I felt sad and sorry for it when I saw it, but the main reason why I felt sad and sorry for it wasn't just because it was blind. The main reason was because its left eye-ball was TOTALLY GONE, nowhere to be found!? It was normal for wild cats to get injured and wounds from fights, but I never saw such a serious wound before!! =<

Today , I had waked up quite early, around 0530 in the morning. Because I was meeting Chee Han(for those who are wondering whos is him... Please the 27th Sept, 2008 post!) for a run at ECP (East Coast Park) at 0700. I left my house around 0600, I I took the bus 197 from Bedok Interchange to Marine Parade and walked to ECP through one of the under passes near to Area C, where the Marine Cove was. I reached ECP around 0630-0645, the weather was very nice and cooling!=>

There were a few groups of old folks having their morning exercises at ECP, some of them were doing Tai Chi... I reached early, Chee Han was not there yet. While I was waiting I observed the old folks' Tai Chi, I found that it was very interesting. It was becuse I learned Wushu(Martial Arts) when I was in Secondary School.

After a 10 - 15 minutes of waiting, Chee Han had appeared. He was late because he had missed the bus. After he had arrived, we started to have our Warm-up(It was important to have proper Warm-up, because there were a few Sudden-Death cases of NSF personnals occured in the year 2008.) After the Warm-up, it was the start of our run. We ran from Marine Cove to the Bedok Jetty, it was around 2.5km. We did some PT(Physical Training) exercises like push-up & jumping jets... etc, after we had reached the Bedok Jetty. We ran back to the Marine Cove, after the PT. It was really a Great run!!

In the evening, I have went to church for singing practice after my English tuition at Katong. I was in a youth singing group of my church, which named SingVOICES(It started in the year 2000, if you wish to know more about it. Please visit http://www.sing-voices.blogspot.com/ for more information). I had joined SingVOICES for about 2years, it was around 2006. I sang Bass in SV, because my voice was very low.

After reached church, I went atraight to the toilet... When I came to toilet, I saw a poor and innocent cat was hiding at the corner of the toilet. It(the cat) was very scard, it ran into the toilet and hide, it ran around in toilet. It was tapped inside the toilet and unable to escape... It tried to climb through windows but unfortunatly, the windows were too small for it to climb out.... It looked so helpless, so I opened the door of the toilet and let it go...

After that I had my singing practice from 1930 till 2230... It was a LONG day!! =>

Today, I had a Birthday celebration for my BEST friend, Shane (because I am the planner of the celebration). I had known him since Sec 1 (knew him for around 8 years alreay), we were from the same CCA, Lion Dance. We are as close as Brothers!!

In the afternoon, around 3pm-4pm, Xiang Long, a very good friend of mine (from Lion Dance too) had came to my house, in order to do some preparations for the surprise celebration for Shane (we had planned it for around 1-2 weeks beforehand). He bought a cake and kept it in the fridge to prevent the cake from melting. We planned that we would have the celebration at Sakura in Tampines SAFRA. I would invite Shane for dinner and meet him alone in Tampines MRT station at 7.30pm (told that Xiang Long couldn't make it for the dinner), and he would go and wait at Sakura together with Ah Bao (another very good friend of mine from Lion Dance), Wu Yu (Junior from Lion Dance) and Stephanie (Shane's god sister) first.

We booked place at the Sakura with the help from Stephanie's father, who is a SAFRA member. It was Lucky because we were able to get some discount on the costs of each person... There was a lot of different kinds of food at Sakura like, Chinese, Western, Japanese, Malay, Indian, Thai food etc.... Ah Bao and Wu Yu kept taking food, but didn't think whether they can finish it.... They nearerly could not finish all the food that they took... And if they couldn't eat them up, we would need to pay a fine as a rate of $5/100g.Fortunately, we still managed to eat up all the food.
After the standard meal, it was the time for the "Happy Birthday!" song and cake. Hahaha... And Shane was surprised by the cake, he did know that we planned to have a dinner with him. But he didn't expect us to prepare a Birthday cake and gift. We took a few photos also...
We had an hour of pool before we return home...

Today, I had dinner with all the members of my family (My elder brother - Yan Chi, my younger brother - Yan Lok and my parenrts) at a food court just beside a Xing Xong Supermaket.We had dinner together because my parents were sending my brothers to the camps.

After having our dinner, we decided to have a walk at the Xing Xong Supermaket. In the supermaket, I had found something that I had been looking for for a long.... It was the Meiji HELLO PANDA (the one showes in photo on the right), which is in CAN packaging. Instead of individual packagings.... Unfortunately, it was not the original. Haiz...=< I would prefer the original than the strewberry... But it was still a good news that I could find this!!

Today, I had met 2 of my friends (Sandy & Tian Ru) for dinner at th Kallang Leisure Park. Reason was because I wanted to give my friend(Sandy) and her sister their Birthday presents which I promised to give them for quite sometime already. Their Birthday were in August, but because she was always busy (Because she is having her FYP, Final Year Project, for her Poly course).

We planned to meet at Kallang MRT station by 5pm., but due some mis-communication, I went straight to the KLP by myself. I reached there around 4.45pm, and I waited until 5.15pm. I still didn't see my friends, so I started to worry whether there was something bad happened to my friends. I called 1 of my friends who was meeting me for dinner, BUT...... No one pick up the call!!? I started to have a bad feeling.... Suddenly, my handphone RANG! It was my friend, She said she was waiting another friend of mine, who would be late for around 15 minutes... LUCKY!! There wasn't anything bad happened...
My 2 friends reached around 5.35pm, we walked from bottom to the top, top back to bottom and 1 end to the other end and return.... There were NOTHING, a lot shops were not open yet.
Feeling kind of cheated!!

So we changed our plan, we went to Peninsula Plaza (which was near to the City Hall MRT station). BUT... There wasn't much shop for my friends to shop. So we decided to find a place to have drink and some chats...

In the ends, we went to the TCC cafe at FUNAN Digitalife Mall, which was just beside Peninsula Plaza. We ordered some drinks - Lychee Jazz, Bleeding Tears & Mango Yoghurt Drink(they were very Expensive!? $6.20, $8.50++ & $7.20) and a piece of TCC Ti-rum-nisu. They drinks were NICE but cheaper will be good... => We chated a lot things like - how was Sandy's FYP, how was Tian Ru planning to study in Uni SIM and what I was planning to do in the future.... etc. We chated all the way from 8pm until 10pm, which the waiters and waitresses started to prepare to close the cafe... It was a really HAPPY experience!! =>

Today, after helping my father for his work, we fetched my mother from her work place... She said she wanted to buy an ear phone for her personnal use in her company, so we accompanied her to the "Cash Converters" , a shop which buy workable second-hand stuffs and re-sell them out....

And I found something which I think was very COOL!!! A "Portable Roll Keyboard", which keypack is made of rubber(very flexible), it could be rolled up and kept inside the bag and brought along with... If anyone have it, he/she will be able to play and compose anytime, anywhere he/she likes...

Great, right?

I wanted to buy, But my parents didn't allow with what I planning to do. SO........ I bought it secertly without letting my parents know about it... Hahaha!!!

SORRY!!! I am busy helping my father for his work for these few days... Really busy! Today, I waked up very eraly in the morning around 5pm (earlier than what I used to). 1 of the reasons was because my father needed me to help him with his work, to unload a container and deliever the goods to a shop in Chinatown.
There was a together number of 435 boxes of goods which weighted 19kg each.... Heavy sia!!

My father and I spent 1 and a half hours to unload 200boxes.... We needed to send them to the shop at Chinatown by today before 12noon.... It was because there was timing for us to unload the goods. And we will need to send another 200boxes from those left over tomorrow morning!!

My father and I built a "bridge" , which lay cross frome the container to my father's 16feet lorry. So that we could pass the boxes from the continer easier and faster...

We have manage to complete all the loading and unloading at the Chinatown before 12noon. It was really tiring with just 2 persons doing all the works....

We were REALLY lucky!!! The sky was still bright when we were unloading the boxes of goods, and it started to rain cats and dogs just 20 minutes after we ended the unloading and left the shop...

After a long and tiring day.

My parents, my younger brother, Yan Lok(who had returned home from camp in the afternoon), and I went to the "Giant" Supermaket somewhere at Tampines area, where Courts and IKAE are just beside it, for a walk..... It was me, the one who suggested to go to Giant for a walk. It was because I knew that there was an offer of roller skating shoes, I would like buy a pair after tried once in the pasted Sat... But there is another reason why I wanted to go there.... It was becaure I need to buy something for my friend as her Birthday gift.

I bought a pair of roller skating shoes, ALEOCA In-line Skates, at the price $69.90 which worth $99 originally...

Today..... I have went to East Coast Park for an combine outing with a younger age-group fellowship, Soar, organized by my fellowship, Glowing. We went there to have fun and some outing activities, in order to get rid our stress which collected in the passed busy week...
Some of us went for Cycling, and some went for Roller Staking.... Want to know what did I choose? Hehehe....
I went for the Roller Staking.... It was my 1st time out of my whole life to get a touch with Roller Stake... I learned how to skate from my friend, Chee Han (the one in white at the Right) together with another friend of mine, Zhi Feng (the one in the Center)

Chee Han was really a good teacher!!! His explanations were clear and easy to understand.... He guided me along when I was trying out and practising..... I fell a few times but it helped me to get closer to the SUCCESS, from falls I learned how to balance myself better! =>

Finally! Wahahaha.......
I learned how to stake at the end of the day!

Today, my elder brother, Tom Lau Yan Chi, has returned from SISPEC after his 1st week in it. His commander asked his group to get all their hair cut before they return, because their hair are LONG (*for Army standard*).

So he asked me to cut his hair for him... I cut his hair with my younger brother, Lau Yan Lok, 's PowerPac hair clipper... I use no.1 to cut the side and the back of his head.. and keep those hair at the top of his hair...

I have been cutting for my 2 brothers after I ORD... I think my hair cutting skill are still OK! Hahaha.... But only for soldier hair style!! I can't cut like Hagen who is a professional hair designer...

Anyone know WHAT is the paper in the photo?
It is my Call-up letter for my re-service briefing in Army, I received it yesterday. Time fly, it has been almost 6 months after I have ORD from Army already!!

BUT.........

I didn't expect it appears in front of my eyes so early...
So I must get myself READY! My physical fitness, combat fitness and mental fitness...In order to keep my fitness, I started with Running... I used the pre-programmed training of my running machine.... It was a 45min run starting with jogging speed to maintain in the speed of 9.6km/hr....
I feel really good after the run... Maybe too long didn't have a proper exercise..... :p

Today, I went Changi Airport in the afternoon...

Because my mother was returning from Hong Kong after a 1 week trip , she went back to Hong Kong, in order to celebrate my Grandfather's Birthday.

It was really lucky that her plane managed to flew off early from Hong Kong, because the level of the typhoon had raised to level 8 just after she left Hong Kong....

She brought back quite a number stuffs from Hong Kong (a lot more than what she brought to Hong Kong). Things like food(Lao Po Bing, Mooncake...), gifts, clothes, bags, and others etc.

My Aunty(Younger Sister of my father) bought a pair of shoes for me and some Rubik's cubes. Thank You, Aunty!!

Hahaha... => As I love to solve Rubik's cubes alot... I know how to solve......

Today the Gas supply was my block is stopped for a few hours.... And the reason behind it was..... Because the unit above my unit need to replace the old gas pipe to a new one. The workers who were replacing the gas pipe came at 10am. 1st, they knocked a hole ( the size of it quite big) from the unit above my unit onto the ceiling of my kitchen.

After around 10 min, the workers had finally unscrewed the old gas pipe... At that point of time, I thought it would be done soon. BUT...... unfortunately, it took another 2 hours for the whole thing to be done.....

I waited and waited... Waited and waited... Until I almost fall asleep.
Suddenly, I heard someone knocked on the door. I opened the door and 1 of the workers standing outside.

He told me that he would need to cover the hole and after that, the whole thing would be done.

Finally, it was done! (But taken more time than I expected)

One of my hobbies is Magic. Being a part-time Magician, I'm able to earn $150-$180 for an hour performance.
Some people may think, "Wow!! What an easy money to earn!"
Actually, it is really not an easy task to give a performance. There is a lot of preparations need to be done before hand, and I need to be creative in order to think of new tricks (Because I can't be performing the same old trick again and again.) And also collect the particulars and informations of my clients. And Magician only earns when there are performances! If there isn't any performance, he will earn NOTHING!!!

I just have an Magic performance for a French family today, they hired me to give a magic show for their daughter's 4yrs old Birthday party, for around 10 kids. It was my 2nd time performing for a French family. The 1st I was performing for a group of 6-7yrs old children, this time was performing to a group of 4 yrs old kids. It is really a very big challenage compare to the 7yrs old children. It is because they are from France, there is no problem to communicate with the parents but their children. They can hardly understand what I was trying to tell them. And they loose their concentration easily,so there is really a BIG problem and challenage.
I was really disappointed on myself about the performance because I had actually had a failure for my 1st trick of the show... :'(

After my Magic performance, I have went to the BBQ organize by my fellowship, Glowing, at East Coast Park (Area C- Pit 18).

We have bought food that is not usually seen in an BBQ normally...
Food likes: Chocolate, Loe Mai Kai(Rice Dumpling), Pizza, Fuzhou Fish Balls, Straw Mushroom, Turkey Bacon & Hashbrown.

It is really FUN!! The food are nice and delicious... Using all kind of ways that we can think of to cook those "Special" food... Unfortantly, the pizza was a failure, it became a "ROCK"... We also BBQ mashmallow with chocolate and honey, so Sweeet~! Yummy!! But is very Fattening! Need to exercise more to loose the weigth that has gained...
